POETRY IN HONOR OF KING DAVID –SWEET SINGER OF ISRAEL
[**Shavuot--which is coming up on Saturday night and sunday and Monday for those outside of Israel ----is the birth-day and Yartzeit of King David ---David Melech Yisrael--Chai Chai V'Kayam **]

Dear children of the sweet singer...of the midnight riser.....of the messianic path blazer....of the builder of the Holy Dwelling...of the eternal and everlasting King....of the psalms composer...of the lover and loved one of the Holy One and of everyone .... of the one who penetrates the human heart---some poetry in honor of the one and only ---the epitome of humility----the focus of all prayer----the sweet singer of our hearts and souls ---the holy spirit guiding us where to go and what to feel----the merkava of the sefira of Malchut---the one who has nothing of his own ---except what he is given by The One Above---the King par excellance ----the master of nuance and subtlety as expressed in the human spirit----the center of the Messianic line, the progenitor of the messianic mind---the path-finder of supernal rhyme and sublime designs ---that can only be understood at the most sacred time----when the clock strikes midnight ----that's when the supernal lights all shine at the same time---and The souls and Angels and Divine manifestations come to join with the harp of David and all who are brave enough to awake every night at that time---for G-d's sake –at that time----and the day of his birth and passing is at hand------though we know with absolute clarity ------that David Melech Yisrael –chai vkayam---lives on and on ---and we through him ---the closer that we get to him---and sing his hymns and emulate his ways and sing his praises---sweet singer of the night ----your light ---shines brighter now than ever before

THE HEART OF HUMANITY

****King David would wake up
every night at midnight
the wind would play
at that time
the strings of his harp
As if the wind blowing
the strings of the harp
was a human being
saying
Play music for me
David King of Israel
Play the music..
Sing the holy Psalms
for us at all times

****The divine inspiration
, ruach kodesh
words he sang
In that holy midnight hour
came from the heart
of all humanity
Devarim she balev
yotzim min halev
v'nchnasim el halev
Words of the heart- Enter the heart

LE-DAVID MIZMOR

**Sometimes King David
would receive the ruach hakodesh
He would go into words and they would channel
effortlessly on their own
When he did that -the Psalm would be introduced
with the words - ledavid mizmor ---for David—a psalm

**Other times
he would pick up the harp
after the persona called 'the northern midnight wind'
would play the strings of the harp
and say, ''play me''
He’d then pick up the harp and he would play the harp
until the ruach kodesh --the Holy spirit would take over
And about this state of affairs
we say' Ledavid Mizmor LeDavid ' –a Mizmor [a Psalm]—for David

**I have a deep desire
that I could get into this place , this holy space
Where its not me playing the music anymore
Its the music playing itself And its the words saying themselves
it's the emotion that's emoting itself
its the divine emanations fusing themselves

**And I am just a transmitter
that just happens to be here
to write it down
At the right soul place and the right time
The right words
come through me and to you hopefully
and back to me again and back to you again
and back to me again and so on and so forth
ad infinitum

** Things that come
from the heart
go to the heart
to the heart
of all of the millions
of people
who recite His words
as if it were their own words
throughout the ages

**Because that is how
ruach hakodesh-Holy Spirit
effects any aspect
of holy words, holy music, holy ideas
It gives it eternal staying power
It gives those same words
the ability to never get old
those words
are going to have endless wellsprings
of meaning
because The soul
that You gave us Hashem,
The soul --and all
that comes from the soul
is part of Hashem
And Hashem is Infinite

THE HEART OF PRAYER AND PSALMS
[ the work of the master craftsman]

***'' Hashem sefasi tiftach .... “
''G-d --open up my lips [to speak your praises]..''

***Our Sages composed those words
They were eternally
placing our entire people
for all time
in a place of receptivity

***The deepest
most subtle
most profound receptivity
Receptivity of G-d’s voice
speaking through our own G-ds words
coming through our own
G-ds feeling
coming through our own

***And when King David
composed his holy Psalms
which are the heart and soul
of our people's prayers,
He did that
in a place of receptivity
G-d's presence
coming through him

***all the prayers
all the emotions
all the yearnings
all the drives
and he placed
those same emotions drives yearnings, & prayers
into the hearts souls and minds
of every single person
who have ever spoken
his holy words

LETTING GO OF THE STRUGGLE

** the struggle persists
and insists
that it's the only way
to keep yourself truly alive
like a bee hive of constant activity
and the bees sting anything
that gets in their way
even though there's a price to pay
the ultimate price
complete self sacrifice

**and King David prayed
to reach a place
of complete serenity
''Libi Chalal B'Kirbi''
''My heart is void inside me''
and he was propelled
into a new way of being
a new way of seeing
a way devoid
of the struggles
of the day to day
a way that escapes
the fears and worries
and needs and yearnings

**a way that is
luke warm and cool
and not
red hot and burning
like all the rest of us
who are always yearning
a way where all is perfect as is
a way of eternal bliss
a way of radical acceptance
a way of eternal presence
the struggle persists
and insists
unless you know this

DEAR MIDNIGHT RIDERS

Dear midnight riders------

fighters for the noble cause

of turning the night into day

and darkness into light…

there is no other way

at this late hour of the endless exile night …

the time has arrived my surreal friends…

that one time---where all that could go wrong –goes wrong----

is the very same time that our anointed one is constantly reborn---

…..so we need to understand this thing called 'midnight' intimately

---because the time has arrived

---our salvation is at hand

--- if we reach out with all of our hearts and souls …

MIDNIGHT ALLEYS

****and I'm walking down those midnight alleys
with a yearning in my heart
a yearning burning
for a higher living
that is tearing me all apart

****and I wake up
with all my troubles and frustrations
that are dragging me to the ground
and I jump into the waters of salvation
and my trouble becomes my crown

****and I can't play this waiting game
too much longer
I can't even wait for one more day
and like a Saint that falls from grace
before he regains his holy place
I've been shot up
and i can't seem to find my way

****I want to walk with you
I want to talk with you
I want to see you in my dreams
but you hide your face
and I fall on my face
and the pain is all too real

**** and midnight is the holiest time
and midnight is my favorite time
and midnight is the holiest time
and midnight is my favorite time of day

****and I'm walking down those midnight alleys
with a yearning in my heart
a yearning burning
for a higher living

MIDNIGHT

***Midnight

is the most hidden phenomenon…

it's the farthest point from yesterday's day-time and tomorrow's sunshine

and though being so invisible may seem to be a handicap,

I've found that is actually the best way back to the infinite source from which we come….

***when you see

that you are invisible and transparent

when you feel you have nothing of your own

except what you receive

when you allow yourself

to be completely filled up

by each and every person you meet

and by each and every experience you engage in

***When your empty cup

becomes filled constantly perpetually

just by virtue of your existence of who you are

then life for you

and for all those you touch

will be an overflowing wellspring

that's how you my faceless friend

the humblest of my companions

are crowned on High

with royalty

and with

sublime grace

Blessings,
yitzchak
