Mystical Musical Meditations in Jerusalem |
These old and new copings from my life, and the lives of others
I know, all have one thing in common -they all bespeak a response of
Equanimity to various challenges of life.
DETACHMENT
I have contemplated often, especially in these "corona days," that the best way to cope is through simply but profoundly choosing to reframe
the situation as being G-d-sent. When I do that I can let go and let G-d. I no
longer have any need for things to be otherwise for they are G-d sent, the best
possible opportunity and challenge that I could possibly want. This is when I
DETACH myself from needing it to be otherwise and this detachment is the
most liberating experience I can have in life.
WANTING WHAT IS
This one is similar, but slightly different than the
previous one.
Perhaps the most inspirational personal yearly goal that
I've ever heard a person seek after was a desire to want what is. I was taken
aback by that goal. Most everyone else that I had ever encountered chose
for themselves goals of what was not, at least not yet.
But this person's choice broke the mold. Choosing to want to
want what is involves giving up the fight, the natural inner struggle against
what a person is not used to, and instead, choosing to accept the present
situation – always - as a manifestation of G-d's will for you, the best
possible thing for you.
IN EVERY WORD
The ultimate self-expression that I yearn for is where
everything converges together, where all aspects of my personality come to the
fore and they express themselves in every word I say, where all aspects of my
knowledge are integrated and injected in every word I say, where every aspect
of my awareness, where I’ve been, where I’m going, where I want to go and where
I am now is expressed in every word I say.
SHABBOS CONSCIOUSNESS
The more I get it into Shabbos consciousness, meaning that
Hashem is guiding me and acting through me, the more I see that G-d is really
with me in every single minute of my day and he’s working through my will, my
mind, my emotion, my decision process, my creativity and everything else.
It’s helping me to trust in my spontaneity as well; that
when I’m giving a class, when I’m being asked a question, when I’m creating
music, when I’m talking to you as I’m talking to you right now, I can trust what’s
coming out of me.
THE HOLY STROLLERS
Let me tell you about a meditational group that I used to
hang out with. We called ourselves The Holy Strollers, and we walked down the
meditative mindsets that we are in, with music in the background, and we say,
“Perfect AS IS” every 15 seconds, and we elevate. We get to a high level. We
feel good about our lives, about our situations, about being with each other.
It’s a good experience when all is said and done. The more
you do it, the more you chip away at the anxieties and at the needs to control.
The more you become a person of equanimity, a person who believes that
whatever is sent your way is exactly what needs to be sent your way, the more
life becomes very paradise–like. Keep strolling, keep strolling.
PERFECT AS IS-ING
The benefits of a Perfect AS IS person are huge; they are
transcendent. I, when I step into a “Perfect As Is” mode, become a person who
is grateful for everything that is sent my way. I thank Hashem all the time. I
become a trusting person. First of all, trusting Hashem, that whatever Hashem
is sending me is perfect. And if it is not perceived as perfect, I’ll
eventually see why it is perfect.
I'm a person who becomes liberated from the anxiety of my
lackings and my problems because I’m looking at them head-on, face-on, and I’m
saying “perfect!” I open up my flow; I become a flowing person. I accept my
life just as it is, which is a hard thing to do, for almost anyone to do.
Usually we repress so much of the pain of our lives, but here you’re saying,
“it is what it is,” and not only that, but beyond that, it’s Perfect AS IS. I
love my life as it is, I love everything that is coming my way. I love Hashem
as is, I love people as is, just as they are.
I become flowing; I become alive. Everything is healing
because everything is coming from Hashem. I’m more aware of what I’m lacking,
since I don’t repress it, and there’s more of a chance I’ll come to fix it up.
I elicit, in a mirror-type fashion, that just as I accept that everything
Hashem sends me is perfect, Hashem accepts everything I send him as being
perfect as well. So, we raised the level of our relationship to the level of
win-win or bliss-bliss and I see the providence around me really, ultimately
evolving to be a perceived Perfect AS IS.
I can truly bless people and life and myself and certain
situations and know that everything has got to be good because I’m seeing it as
good. There’s a saying that says, “Think good and it will be good.’’ A goodness
that is Perfect AS IS at all times. You are going to see that it will really be
Perfect AS IS, it will really be good. So, this is a little portrait of Perfect
AS IS, and it is work, but the work is very highly rewarding, and the
experience takes you to a whole new level of opening yourself up to the flow of
life.
G-D-ING 24\7
G-d-ING 24/7 is a foundation of our people, we are a people
called Yehudim, Judah-ites, Jews. The word Yehudim is basically the four
letters of G-d’s proper name. That’s who we are. I’m a son of a nation, of a
tribe, of a people who are coming to testify that G-d exists in the world.
There’s a verse that says about us, “You are my witnesses.” A witness is
somebody who testifies and reveals something that is not revealed to people
without their testimony. That’s who we are. We are revealing that G-d exists in
every aspect of living, in every aspect of 24/7 living.
